"Whether you're sixteen or forty, this is your life: start recording now."
Journalinig is such a freeing activity.
One of my former teachers, a great friend of mine, once explained a journal as a a birds eye view of your experiences. She said that keeping a journal helps you see where you've been, where you are and where you're going. When you're sad, you're able to read accounts of times that you were joyful. When you're happy, you're able to have perspective and gratitude looking back on times when you weren't so happy.
It helps you keep your life in perspective.
That's definately true and I think is a very encouraging aspect of keeping a journal.
However, I also think it's a fun and rewarding experience.
I like to imagine a day when I'll sit down with my kids and look through my journals and read to them all the funny stories I recorded, all the lessons I learned.
It would be such a rewarding experience.
A journal is like a postcard of your life: a physical documentation of memorie you'll always keep.
So... what are you waiting for? Grab a notebook and pen and get started on a journey you'll never regret.
